Why did you make this?
The last few months during the lockdown I’ve used my time to create a 3D model of the “Sea Ghost” ship from the D&D adventure book “Ghosts of Saltmarsh”. While I couldn’t play any D&D with my friends, I loved the idea of having the ship from the book in real life. So that after the lockdown, once me and my friends can play D&D again, we will have this awesome ship on the table.
To challenge myself I left behind my trusted software and switched to learn Blender for the first time. After 40+ hours of modeling and learning I recreated the “Sea Ghost” in 3D based on the blueprints from the book. The scale of the ship represents one square to be 1 inch, additionally it's fully modular meaning you have easy access to every floor. This is great for visualisation of the ships plan and recreation of battles on the ship.
With my love for D&D and the joy I got while making and painting the ship I wanted to grant the files for everyone to have so that they can experience the same joy as I did! I would love to see more people using this model and please share your stories.
